Gryphons in Greenden
Erric has started to strip the bodies. You clean and sheathe your sword, shaking your head at your friend.
"Let them alone, Erric."
His dark eyes come up to meet yours. "Why?" he asks bluntly after a moment. "They don't need any of this stuff."
You think of bloody battlefields and bodies littering the stained ground. There had to be some honor in death, or there was nothing. "They are knights as well. Let them be."
"They are dead knights. With provisions and weapons and money we could use."
You turn away, annoyed that you must argue this with him. "Just let them alone, Erric. How would you want to be treated if you were vanquished in the field of battle?"
Erric is still kneeling over one of the bodies and he frowns. "Well. I'd be dead, wouldn't I? Not a hell of a lot I can do about anything then."
You don't want to argue any further and collect your own gear, saddling up your horse and getting ready for the rest of the day.
