Hall of Infinite Doors
You remember Sigord. You remember his band of warriors. You remember how they bravely stood up to whatever evil that faced them. You know that there is probably no way to live out the night, so you might as well fight for your life.
You draw your short sword and wait. You feel strangely calm; probably because you've gotten past fear, something beyond fear. You know that you're going to die, and that there is no way out of it, so why should you be afraid? It is the end. Such thoughts seem to make sense to you at this time.
A young man steps from the shadows. You point the sword tip towards him.
"You have been through much." the man speaks. You are surprised about how human he sounds. You know that he is a Vryloka, however, and if he does move too close you will kill him.
"We do not want to hurt you," the man says softly, "We are Vryloka, indeed, but we do not want to harm you."
"Liar." you simply say.
"You are far from home, boy," the Vryloka continues, "Too far from home. This land is no place for you to live. You have to go."
"And how am I to do that?" you say sternly. The man reaches into his pocket and pulls out a golden key. As he brings it out into the moonlight, you can see that it is the same key you fished from the dwarf's pocket.
"How did you get that?" you ask, suspiciously.
"This is the key to a door." the man ignores your question, "A door with the symbol of a red sword on its surface. It took a long time for us to find you, boy, but now that we have you must come with us. You have to trust us."
The door. You wonder... could this be the way out?
