Hall of Infinite Doors
"If you want me," you yell, "Come down and get me!"
"Why you little rat!" the large giant roars, "We'll jump down and grind yer bones to dust! We'll drink your blood! We'll---"
"We have a rope, you know." Meeshoc says.
"We'll climb down very carefully, THEN make the last seconds of your life HELLLL!" The giant turns to Meeshoc, "Go get it!"
Meeshoc disappears for a few moments, then comes back into view holding a large coil of rope.
"I'll hold the rope and you slide down to get him." The giant tells Meeshoc.
You look down into the darkness of the chasm and notice that the golden light below is getting larger. Or closer. The coil of rope sails past your ear and hangs into the darkness below. Like a worm. Like fish bait.
"You stay right there," Meeshoc grins, "I'm coming down to get you!" You look up and see that he is almost halfway down the rope already.
What will you do? You wrack your mind for ideas. Then, suddenly you have one. Something about the light below reminds you of a nasty creature back on earth that lived in the very deepest parts of the ocean. A type of fish.
You reach over to the rope, which hangs far past your little ledge, and you begin wiggling it.
"Heeere fishy fishy fishy..." you mutter, trying to forget about the big giant coming to kill you. You can see the light waver for a second, then suddenly rush upwards. You feel the blood rushing from your face. You stand up, rush away from the edge and plaster yourself against the wall.
"What the devil is that?" You hear Meeshoc exclaim. The giant is very near the ledge, but he has stopped to take a look at the light.
"Meeshoc!" the other giant screams, "WATCH OUT! IT'S---" But he is abruptly cut off as the rope goes taught and he is pulled over the edge by the monster.
Both of the giants scream like children as the are pulled deep into the darkness of the chasm. Deep into the mouth of the awaiting monster.
