Hall of Infinite Doors

Shocked, but intrigued, Henry listened to his son's story, and knew how to handle the situation. He knew the ins and outs of money and how to manage it, and decided to help his son turn his fortune into a larger one. He wanted his fair share for doing it, of course, and wanted his son to do something with his life, so he worked it out.

John's father was a manager of money, so he settled the deal and got John $65 million of his promised $104 million, the difference eaten by taxes. In return, John received a 4-year education and 2-year extra education and became a lawyer who specialized in accident-related issues, and multiple claims to property. Henry helped his son turn the $65 million into a multi-billion dollar budget over his son's college career. His father had the time to do this because he had recently retired. Suddenly John's life seemed to have a definite end, and a happy one at that. But fate and fortune turn tables quickly, and events often turn sour.

As John's career as a famous lawyer whose success was unchallenged, he began to forget more and more his old life. He forgot to appreciate things as they should be, and he forgot his music. He did, however, remember the musician who helped him oh so long ago, when he stumbled on the card. He contacted him, and set him up with a studio to record his music, and then helped him make large amounts of money in the business. He personally owned a well-kept mansion, several automobiles, servants for every occasion, a computer laboratory that had Internet access, a gigantic pool, several motels, a few restaurants, and more. He knew any woman who fell for him would really just want the money, he almost 40 years old.

He ran a few pubs in the city he had moved to, and had many famous people in need of his attorney assistance. He was well-paid and the best money could buy.

One day he realized how life had become for him when he argued with his father on the phone. His father wanted him to have a son to leave inheritance to and to have a grandson before he died, but John knew better. The child would suck the life force from him, and the woman would probably be even more dreadful. He thought back to when he had no worries, when he expressed himself though music and went where he wanted, when he wanted. Now he had so many things scheduled, he didn't have time to live the life he had loved so long ago. So he made a decision. One day, he told his butler to clear his schedule completely, and that he would be gone all day is anyone asked him. He would go and visit his old home, and maybe even go to the library or the park. He smiled when he thought about chasing ducks in his business suit.
