"Mother, I saw Robert and his men on the road, he will be here tonight for dinner."
Lady Ann Smiled knowingly, "I know Ali, we have a grand feast prepared. We are also Hosting Sir Guy of Saxony tonight. Your father is hoping to win Sir Guy's fealty, so dress nicely and be polite at dinner this evening."
Alinor grinned dreamily thinking of her dream about Wil. "Mother, Can I sit next to Robert at dinner tonight?" Alinor asked sweetly.
Lady Ann was not swayed by her daughter's charms the way the Baron was. "I think Lady Christine would like to sit next to her husband the first day he is back. You will see plenty of young Wil in the hall." Lady Ann looked thoughtful for a moment then said, "You will sit next to Sir guy tonight. We will honor him by having him at the high table"
Alinore tried not to look disappointed for her mother, but she would have to wait until well after dark to speak with Wil. At least if she was sitting next to Robert she could him how Wil was, and if he was here at all.
The Baroness glided gracefully out of the room leaving Alinore to dress for dinner.
