You reach for the letter opener and carefully open the envelope.
"Ha ha", chuckles a voice behind you. "Yet another student who can't resist poking his nose in where it doesn't belong". Startled, you let go of the letter opener and narrowly escape piercing your foot as it plummets to the floor.
You turn around. You see a tall gaunt man, seated by the window. A smile betrays his amusement.
