You give her a weak smile and nod your head slightly. "You have no idea how much I would love to take you up on that offer, but I have to respect Sam and let her sleep."
Dar shakes her head. "So you are passing up this." He hands seem to move down her sides as if displaying her body on a game show.
You weakly nod your head and don't make eye contact. "For now at least. I would love to another time or place, when Sam isn't trying to sleep."
Dar lets out an exasperated huff. "Whatever. Forget it. Sam was so fucking wrong about you. You ain't ever getting in here now."
You try to say something but he snorts and cuts you off, walking past you towards the bed. She slaps Sam on the hip and Sam wakes up with a jolt. She blinks several times and then stares at Dar. Sitting up Sam says, "What'd I miss?"
Dar, still not smiling, replies, "Nothing. He's no fun and really starting to get on my nerves."
