"So..." Jezirea began, curious, but hesitent to ask the weird stranger any questions anything that might be invasive, "What were you doing down their anyway?"

"I told you; I was trapped," the man said, simply repeating what he'd already told her earlier.
Jezirea sighed. That's not what she meant.
"I mean, why were you trapped? How did the doors seal behind you, and why were you there in the first place?" she rephrased the question, but the man remained silent, and Jezirea once again found herself wondering what was wrong with him.
He obviously wasn't deaf, so why was it that he sometimes acted as if he hadn't heard her?

She sighed and glanced around at their forest surroundings. This was akward and just dragging on and on, but she was still curious.
Though curiosity would do her no good when talking to someone who wouldn't talk back. But... How long had he been in there? It must have taken him a long time to dig that tunnel, and he was probably starving.

Jezirea thought it over for a moment. She still had a few days worth of rations, and it would only take her a day or two to get to Bygoville, if the bandits hadn't thrown her too far off course.
It wouldn't hurt to give him some food would it?
