The demon scam
"P.. Please don't eat us!" you gasp, hoping that even demons might show mercy sometimes.
Mere says nothing and just glares at the demon, looking pissed.
The cat-like female blinks her eyes in slight surprise, flicking an ear. Then she starts to laugh and she backs off to let you up. "Don't fret, little ones," she says, "You are way too sweet to be eaten - my teeth would rot."
You exhale your held breath, feeling slightly stupid as you sit up and brush yourself off.
