The demon scam

You sigh, thinking it is probably an oddly colored leaf that caught her excitement or something just as fun, but you'd better check it out anyway.

You walk in the direction of her voice, coming around a bend in the path just in time to see her actually STEP RIGHT THROUGH a tree and disappear. What the..!? The tree seems to shimmer with a strange light that can't be of this world.
