Shemaru

"Let's go to the broadcast building. We'll put our message throughout Asian Amusements, and try to sneak away as fast as possible."

"Yeah," Stuart agrees. "Okay. As there really aren't too many choices...let's try it. Now which way is the building?"

You look around for any clue, and you soon spot a sign that says "Broadcast Building," and it points to the west. You and Stuart make your way in that direction and find yourself at the building in only a few minutes.

"This is it," you tell Stuart. The broadcasting building is much smaller than the Shemaru Plane building; and luckily there are no guards in sight. All the guards are probably guarding the Shemaru Plane, you think to youself.

You look for a way in. The only entrance appears to be a door...but wait! There is a ladder on the north side of the building that leads to a hatch on top.

You point the ladder and trapdoor out to Stuart. "Let's go that way," you tell him.

However, Stuart stops you just before you put your hand on the bottom rung. "Wait. People are sure to notice us on the top of the building, and that'll attract guards. We don't want any attention until we get the message out through all of Asian Amusements. And once we do get in the building, I'll call 911 while you broadcast the warning about Asian Amusements. Okay? We need to do this fast, or else we'll be shot."

You study Stuart's face; you'd never thought of him a person who thought about consequences during this debacle, but now he seems to have a level head. "Right," you concur. "Now let's get up this ladder."

You and Stuart scale the ladder in a matter of seconds; it only has about ten rungs. You find yourself on top of the building. Only for a moment do you scan the multitudes of people at Asian Amusements. But in that short span of time you are able to see that your disappearance from the Shemaru Plane has not yet caused an uproar.

That'll end soon.

You and Stuart clamber down into the hatch door, hoping no one saw you. You go down a flight of stairs and arrive in the main area of the building.

"No one is here," Stuart observes as he closes his eyes with relief. "Now let's do this."

Without further ado, you grab one of the many microphones and hit its switch. You take a deep breath, thinking of what you're about to deliver to the customers of Asian Amusements. Stuart picks up the phone, dialing for aid.

"Attention!" you say into the microphone, which blares out across the amusement park. "Attention! You have all been lied to. The Shemaru Plane is a place of real danger and death. I was in the Shemaru Plane, came out, and saw the horrors that awaited me. My friends and I have been held hostage at the hands of Asian Amusements, which is actually a terrorist group. If you see any Asian Amusements guards, attack them! Now is the time to panic!"

You knew that your speech would incur complete pandemonium, but that's what you want. If there was chaos outside you and Stuart might just be able to escape in the crowd.

"You done?" Stuart asks with a weak smile. "That was some speech."

You grin back. "Yeah, let's get outta here once and for all. I just started a mass exodus from the park, or at least I hope I did."

You and Stuart climb back up to the tope of the building and this time jump off the side (you know full well this building would be swarming with guards any second now).

Your plan worked! Everyone was screaming, everyone was fighting, everyone was running to the exit! You and Stuart gladly join the mass stampede, careful not to be trampled on as you run.

The guards try to break the mass by firing bullets at the ground but that just sparks the stampede even more. The crowd swells and reaches the gates to Asian Amusements, which are locked.

A few men push on the gates, and then a few more join. Soon everyone at the front of the crowd is putting their weight into it. With a great crash, the crowd is let into the world.

You revel in your freedom. The horror of the Shemaru Plane is long gone. The terrorists at Asian Amusements are gone. It's over.

Twenty years later, you stand before a pod identical to the one you entered two scores ago. Same blue metal. Same green and black wires. Same white and red helmet.

"Everyone ready? Well then, into your pods!" the man says, and just as you had done before, you sit down into your Shemaru Plane pod.

The man who had just spoked walks over to you. "Are you sure you're alright, sir?"

You nod grimly. "Yes, I'll be fine. I've recovered from that day...plus there's the fact this time Asian Amusements has guaranteed no acts of terrorism, and there have been plenty of people to try this thing out before me."

As a single tear goes down your left cheek, you remember the terror of the Shemaru Plane you experienced at the age of sixteen. Held captive by terrorists. All of your teammates killed, except for Stuart Ingorian. Threats of execution. The vicious murder of your parents. The stories on TV...eventually the owner of Asian Amusements, Mr. Ashima Shemaru was arrested for acts of terror and killed. But not before the damage was done. Not before all of the death and fear.

But this time, the Shemaru Plane will be different.
