Shemaru
You stand back, allowing your teammates to attack the beast. Two members, Stuart and someone you don't know, swipe at the knees. The other boy gets killed in a most brutal fashion, as the club comes crashing into his face. The boy collapses to the ground. Next, the minotaur turns to a pair of competitors who are cowering fear like yourself. He looks at the one on the left and slams his club into his head. The extremem force of the blow causes the boy's head to crunch into his body.
Quick and fluid, Janis cuts off the beast's head in one stroke. He simply jumps up and te head is rolling on the ground. Janis lands, looking quite satisfied with his kill.
The boys look like the are about to say something to Janis, but instead most of them look down at the corpses. One of them speak.
"Didn't the man say the bodies would be removed from the battlefield when they were killed?"
Janis inspected the corpses. "Yeah, he did, and they are supposed to be gone. Oh well, you cannot expect a game to have no glitches. Just a virus."
"A virus?" one of the boys says in a scared tone. "But what if one would prevent us from going home or something?"
"Don't worry," Janis brushed off the comment as if thoughts of a massive viurs were nothing. "There isn't a virus that dangerous. And you can't expect them to make a bug-free game, especially at this scale.
"Thankfully, we have passed this test, and now we can move on to the food."
But Stuart is not satisfied. "Why the hell didn't you do that before? You could've saved these guys' lives! Now we're down two men! If we face the enemy now, it'll be much easier for them to pick us off. One person could easily make the difference, and I don't want to think about two."
"Someone's picky!" Janis laughs. "Don't worry! We can win without them, it'll just be a little difficult. Believe me, I'm better than the other team's beta tester."
"I don't see how!" Stuart yelled hotly. "Not only did you listen to that dumb bastard, you let two of us die when you eaily could have intervened!"
"Now quiet down," Janis insisted. "And no swearing. We can get through this. Now, if you'll please continue, we'll be at the food and equipment area soon."
But Stuart held his ground. "No! I'm not going. In fact, I'm leaving. I'll kill the enemy on my own. I don't need you, Janis. I can survive in the Shemaru Plane on my own. Anyone who wants to live can come with me."
Out of the other three people remaining, two walk over near to Stuart. Janis looks at them incredulously.
"You people have to be joking! This is one setback! And I'm the only one here who knows his way around! If the enemy doesn't kill you, the environment certainly will. You should all leave him and stay with me."
