You turn around and run back to camp where you reach into the fire and
pull out another burning log.

"One hundred eighty two contestants remain." Came the automated voice
from the artificial heavens.

You apply your torch to grasses and trees, making a blazing inferno of
the swamp. You can only hope that Night Eyes dies in the blaze. If he
doesn't die, at least he will not have the tactical advantage of night
vision.

As you leave the camp behind you, you briefly think that the water has
caught ablaze. You shake such nonsense from your head, though. It is
merely a reflection.

The automated voice announces two more deaths, and you cant help but
wonder if the fire you set is responsible for any of them.

As you walk on along the darkened trail, a torch lighting your path you
cannot help but feel the increasing weariness attempt to take hold of
you. You fight it off as much as you can manage, but find yourself
stumbling here along the path on weakened legs.

Before long you are out of the swamp and into a meadow of lush grass.
Ahead of you is a tree and beneath the tree is a small camp fire. You
can see a figure sitting at it's side, facing the fire. You wonder if he is awake.
