You don't even turn around, you jump up and grab the lowest hanging branch and pull yourself up, jumping up again to the next branch above so that you're sure that you're out of reach. The panther has already leaped out from the bushes to attack. It looks up to where you stand and jumps up, but can't quite reach you. Intent on its prey, however, the panther digs its claws into the base of the tree and begins climbing up after you.
Realizing the vulnerability of it's position, you immediately jump back down to the lower branch that it has just reached. Still holding onto the trunk, the panther attempts to crawl onto the branch, but you quickly stab at it, aiming for the most vulnerable area of any creature; the eyes.
The tip of your knife plunges into the jungle cat's socket, the eye exploding in a mess of blood and the jelly-like substance of the eye. The panther roars in pain and falls off the tree.
It falls some twenty feet to the ground, landing with a sharp crack. It is blind and injured, but it struggles to regain its footing. You take advantage of the situation and jump on its back, slitting it's throat in one smooth movement. The panther throws you off of its back in its death throes and attempts to run away. It doesn't get far, though and collapses on the jungle floor a few yards away.
Law of the jungle and only the strongest survive, and you've managed to prove it again. It's the whole reason you're in this contest. You continue on your way.
As you briskly make your way through jungle you suddenly spot something coming at you out the corner of your eye, from the left and dodge it. A dart hits the tree beside your head.
Either someone's shooting at you or you unwittingly triggered a trap. What do you do?
