"Let the bastard live," you tell them.
"We got no other choice, Gus," Annie agrees. Gus scowls at the two of you and slumps his shoulders in a defeated way. "You two are the stupidest goddamn sonsabithces I ever had the misfortune to associate with, you know that!? What in the name of all that's holy are we supposed to do with this worthless piece of luggage!?"
You let out an affronted grunt and turn your back on the old timer, while Annie seems more and more interested with the prisoner's face. Her eyes widen in excitement after a few minutes of eerie silence. "I know this ugly son of a bitch!" she blazons jovially. "He's wanted in Wicklow, just over the Sangre de Jesus hills. There's a BIG reward on this scumbag, fellas. He's wanted for three murders and seven rapes." She looks up to you and smiles that ugly rotted-tooth exposing smile of hers. "Good job, shithead," she finally adds. Gus lets out an animated "YeeeeeHAW!" and throws his hat into the air. "It's about time our fortune changed!"
You however, aren't so happy. "Dammit," you mumble mostly to yourself. You look up at the others sheepishly and shrug. "I'm wanted in Wicklow too."
"What in the hell did you do down there?" Gus asks. "They get ya for bein' a damned idiot?"
"Yes," you concede. "That and the fact that I got caught fooling around with the Sheriff's daughter." You clear your throat nervously. "The sheriff's 16 year old daughter," you half-cough in a vain attempt to mask your incriminating words. "Why am I not surprised," Annie says in a level voice.
Gus just shakes his head and keeps muttering "Hopeless. The boy's hopeless." Annie fixes you a glare; "We're going to Wicklow, with or without you. You already cost me a damn fortune as is. I'm done lettin' you interfere with my doings."
Gus remains silent but his silence speaks volumes. You know he'll be happy to follow Annie, with or without you. Looks like you've got a tough decision to make.
