Before you can reply, Raltec's attention is diverted to your pet Manticore.
"Well what have we here?! You didn't just bring me a manticore heart, you brought me live manticore kitten! Excellent! This even better, I can use the other parts as well!"
Spikey growls at Raltec's over enthusiasm, as if he knows Raltec means to do him harm.
"Uh no! You won't be doing that! Not after what I had to go through to get him! I nearly got turned to stone, by a Medusa, who keeps these things as pets. And I'm damn sure not handing him to you of all people! You who keeps sending me on missions with never enough information and nearly getting me killed!"
"(sigh) Fine. So where's the manticore heart?"
"Here!" you say and throw the rotten organ at his feet.
Raltec picks it up and only says one statement.
"I can see our partnership is becoming more hostile, so let me give you a good reason for quitting, I'm only giving you 250 gold pieces for this!"
"Fine! I'll be out of here in the morning!" you say.
You take your 250 gold and head to your room with Spikey following faithfully behind you. You'll be glad to not have to deal with Raltec and his suicide step and fetch missions actually You'll leave in the morning; right now you're going to sleep.
Later, in the middle of the night you're awakened from you sleep. You hear screaming and sounds of battle! You get up with your weapon drawn and ready for combat. You leave your room and hear the noise coming from Raltec's lab.
"What has this idiot summoned up?" you say to yourself, your question is soon answered when Raltec's bloody body comes crashing through the lab door in front of you.
"LOOKING FOR RAL?" a voice mockingly asks, then a large insectoid demon comes skittering towards you.

Fortunately you have Spikey to help you! If you ever roll doubles (Regardless if you win the combat round) Spikey has unleashed a tail full of quills at the demon causing 4 STAMINA points of damage.
