The center tunnel ends at a door, where you hear high pitched laughing coming from it. You cautiously open it, to see a GOBLIN working on some strange objects, there's some beakers of liquid on another table. He looks totally oblivious to his surroundings as he's engrossed in his work.

You could sneak up on him if you wish, or just leave.
