The nearest city is Holgard, you've never been out of the village, but you've heard more than enough stories from traveling merchants passing through your village on how to get there. Of course what you'll encounter on the way is another matter.

You could try to out run them,

You could try to run at them to engage them in close combat

If you're technologist you could try to return fire if you still have your Brimstone Thrower. You could also return fire if you're a Wizard.
