You decide on the state college just 90 miles from home.
You estimate it is an hour and a half drive each way. You could conceivably commute there...
But part of you wants a taste of the true college experience -- i.e. LIVING ON CAMPUS, and participating in some of the fun, not just commuting to classes.
Remember, you can always get student loans, but if you commute, you won't have as much in student loans when you graduate. However, you've also read that commuters are less likely to stick with it and graduate...so you could wind up with loans for nothing.
