All Is Fair in Hate
"Keiya! Keiya!" You saw Rella leap from the wagon with surprising agility for someone of her age, and withdraw a hidden sword. Rusty and tarnished with age, it didn't do much good when Rella began hacking as hard and swift as she could.
"Rella! Help! Rella help me!" You screamed at her but the words had just come out of your mouth when another surge of roots wrapped themselves around Rella and one root covered your mouth like a gag-piece.
You could hear Rella's agonized screams as the roots tortured her as they tortured you. You could feel your heart pounding, threatening to break through your rib cage from your fear. You could hear the horses shrieking as they too were consumed by the thick mass of twisting, ugly roots.
And then it all just seemed to slow down. Your heart stopped it's rapid beat, your mind cleared, and you began to think like a normal person. It was an overwhelming calm. Something you could never have expected. And yet there was still this far away section of your mind that was panicking like there was no tomorrow, but here you were. So calm it wasn't even rational. Was this what it was like to go insane? You wondered on this for a few seconds but shrugged it off. If you were insane now then so be it.
It hit you then. What was happening was not of your own doing. No... there was someone else there in your mind. It was soothing you with it's own calm and fearlessness. You knew that whatever it was wouldn't let anymore harm come to you, you just knew it.
| Keiya. Keiya come back to me. Wake up from your mind wandering, dearheart. All is well. |
