Silent, but Deadly

You fire the fatal shot right between his eyes. The sound of the muzzle breaks the still of the night. The enemy troops start charging towards your location. The element of surprise is lost forever. You get up and run for any type of shelter. You reload with a fresh magazine of ammo and start shooting down the enemy. You are feeling like a super hero as the enemy begins to fall like dominoes. The enemy retreats back to the base camp. You reload and wait for the second wave. You wait. Fifteen minutes pass. Nothing. You are relieved that nothing has happened and begin to laugh. "Is that all you've got? This is like stealing candy from a baby." You laugh and begin to walk down from your shelter.
A flare lights up the sky. Nightfall has lightened up to day. You look up as the flare explodes. You look in the general direction from which the flare was shot. All you see is troops aiming at you. It is too late. They fire. The enemy takes you down.
