The Black Citadel

You evoke your Spell of Phantom and you notice your skin takes on a ghostly sheen. You step straight into the wooden door and you see nothing for a moment. On the other side of the door your eyes focus again as you enter the corridor of the inner wall. You timed it perfectly! There is a guard walking away from you down the corridor right in front of you. Running up lightly on the tips of your toes as to not make much of a sound, you take the guard's dagger from his belt, grab him by the hair, slit his throat, and then crack his head against the wall. From his belt you take the *guard's keys.

Up ahead you open the corridor gate with the guard's keys. Walking across the pillared room, you do the same with the opposite gate. Then you move down the second inner corridor, and after going down a stairway, you come to a locked wooden door that you also open. Inside the stone room are piles of an assortment of weapons and armour. You take your sword and backpack with all its items. You may also take any or all of the following:

*Helm (+1 armour)
*Small shield (+2 armour)
*Ring mail (+1 armour)
*Plated belt (+1 armour)

Note: (you may exchange armour of the same type in order to get something with a higher armour rating).

You leave the weapons room, head back to the gladiator room, and lead them quietly to the weapons room. The men arm and take what they can quickly. Back in the pillared room, they bid their farewells and wish you and Vandil the luck of the gods, and then they all disappear down the spiral staircase into the dungeons below. Following your earlier directions, they should be well into Darkwood soon enough. That just leaves you and Vandil to get to work on the rest of your plan.
