The Bridge

"Um, Hello. My name is ___. Is there something I can do to help?"
The woman looks slightly to the left of her shoulder and meets eyes with you. She sniffs once before turning her gaze toward the skyline.
"Don't touch me. I've made up my mind and I'm going to do it. Don't try and stop me! Just walk away." You're initially put-off by her abruptness, but tell yourself that her defensiveness can only be expected in such a situation.
"I'm not going to try and stop you. I just wanted to know if you'd like to talk about what's bothering you so much." The woman bites her bottom lip as tears begin to stain her quivering cheeks.
"...You really want to talk to me?" How do you reply?
