The Bridge
Your legs haven't hit the pavement with such force and intensity since your high school track and field days. The figure in the distance is growing closer, revealing a young woman in her early twenties or so, who is barely holding onto the guard rails at this point. You think frantically to yourself that if you can just make it to her in time, that maybe you will hve the chance to change her mind; perhaps you can serve to make her re-think this drastic decision she has obviously made to end her life.
Unfortunately, however, your overzealous approach has now worked against your good intentions. Before you can even reach your hand out and introduce yourself, the obviousy unstable woman takes one final look over her shoulder before plummeting off the DuPoint Memorial Bridge.
