Pencil Sharpener
You decided to go to the place called “Green Dragon”. What a cool name for a store you thought. When you opened the door, you could hear a bell ring. The air was warm and comfortable. You saw several tables with people sitting around them, they were drinking coffee. You didn’t really like coffee but you knew that it was warm and it could help you heat up while you figured out why you where in Boston.
You walked up to a man behind a counter and said, “One coffee please”. The man looked at you with a raised brow before he started pouring coffee from a pot into a cup. You were about to reach for your money when you realized that you didn’t have any. “I’m sorry, but I don’t have any money” you say.
As you said it, the bell above the door rang again. An old man with a brown coat and a white beard entered the Green Dragon. “I’ll pay for the kid” the man said. That was lucky, you thought. The man paid for your coffee and ordered one for himself. “You look lost kid” the man said while he pulled out a chair for himself, pointing to another chair where you could sit. You sat down. “I’d say that you look like a kid who is in the wrong place in the wrong… time”. Why did he take a pause before saying time? Did he know that you had travelled in time? “You are right sir” you say, “I am lost, I don’t know why I’m in Boston, but I travelled in time and now I’m here”.
“So, you travelled in time you say?” the man asked. You realized that it sounded kind of crazy, but it was the truth. “Yes, I was taking this test at school when I used…” the man interrupted you and said “a magical pencil sharpener”.
You were shocked! How did he know about the pencil sharpener? “You’re not the first one to use it you know. I used it on a test once as well”. The man carefully drank from the hot coffee. “What was the question on your test? Maybe I can help you”. You were amazed that the first man you talked to knew about the pencil sharpener, but you did need some help on the first question of that test.
What will you do?
