Speciation
Peripatric speciation is a type of speciation in which new species evolve in sub-populations that colonise a new habitat or niche due to genetic drift.
Peripatric speciation similar to Allopatric speciation, as it involves the geographic isolation of populations, resulting in limited intergene exchange. However, its difference occurs in its trait divergence within a much smaller population size and unit. The characteristics of the smaller group based genetic grift are unique in that divergence occurs much more quickly and in drastic form across future generations.
