"Oh, are we?" she says, with a distinct hint of sarcasm in her tone. "I'm scared."
You shake your head and sigh. She is EXACTLY like your annoying sister. And the last thing you want to get constantly reminded of is home!
"Let's just stay out of each others way. That okay?"
The girl looks surprised, but nods in silence. "Kate."
"I'm Alex. And just because we don't get along, it doesn't mean you need to be so curt. See you around."
And you leave Kate to her thoughts as you go out of the room.
