Savages of the Sacred Salvage
Once again, you find your son just in the nick of time.
A demon locust has arrived from Hell and is at work busily stripping the people's offerings of crystals from the limbs and body of the Bright Gods in the area. Chameek has been taken and secretly, carefully...well actually you're not sure how the demon locust never noticed, but they never seem to notice anything unless directly attacked. Anyhow, Chameek has been tied down over the demon locust's back, and when the creature returns to Hell, he'll be caught up in the blue fires and transported there too.
"Chameek! My son!" you cry, running over to him.
"Mother! Where'd you come from--oh never mind, please just save me!" he also cries. As in, he's actually crying.
You hesitate, then clamber up on the cold, smooth body of the Hell beast, taking out your knife and beginning to saw at the ropes holding him in place. Just as the last one breaks free, you see a familiar blue glow beginning to gather beneath the segmented joints of the locust.
"Chameek, hurry!" you gasp. You twist around and plant a foot against him, giving him a mighty heave off the locust and out of range of the fires.
Then the light flares up and everything goes blue, then white.
