The technology appears in your hand, heavy and metallic. You speak to it, and it rapidly duplicates. The face of the universe is covered in them.

You speak one syllable:terrible, eternal, heralding the end of life, and the machine fulfills its purpose. Not one atom remains untouched. The screams are drowned out by the explosions echoing from every mote of space. Matter was destroyed.

The universe shudders briefly, than carries on as normal, barely noting the sudden black spot it developed.

But life cannot be stamped out so easily. It will regrow in time. You know this in the back of your head, but this thought is replaced with searing fire and a bellowing howl as the inferno collapses upon you.
