One House; Many Choices
After making a stack of all the pieces you found scattered across the room, you take each puzzle piece and connect it to the others. Each piece makes a satisfying “click” sound, once it connects to the correct piece. It takes you longer than usual because of the heaviness and size.
Once you only have one piece left, you carry the last piece to the remaining spot on the puzzle. You bend down and hear the last “click” and the puzzle disappears. Your heart sinks because you think you failed. You look up and, suddenly, the house around you disappears and you see your neighborhood. Your white house stands in front of you. Tears of happiness roll down your cheeks as you skip along the gray stone path leading to the door. You are so excited to finally open the door of your house. When you almost reach the door, you notice that the same black cat that you saw in the beginning is laying down next to the door, its sharp eyes staring at you. You are a bit surprised but you don’t pay too much attention because you are too distracted.
You feel the cold doorknob as you turn it all the way, and you hear a “click” as the door swings open. Inside, you see your parents sitting on the couch as they welcome you in. Tears of joy rush down as you realize that you have escaped the haunted house!
