One House; Many Choices

You dash past the shadow and run across the room to open the door. Inside the room, a huge unsolved puzzle lays in front of you. The plain white puzzle pieces are half the size of you. A couple pieces are already connected to each other, but all the others are spread across the large, empty floor. This reminds you of the times when you and your family would do puzzles together, and you would always finish first. Since this is a haunted house, completing the puzzle might not be the answer to escaping.

You take in your surroundings, making sure that this was all that there actually was in the room, and you notice no doors on the walls. Your only choices are to either solve the puzzle or take apart the pieces that are put together.

Which one do you choose to do?
