The Paradox Factor

"Scott, what's the paradox factor?", you ask.

Terry continues to examine Rocky as Bill looks over at you with curiousity. The lab's equipment continues to buzz and the computer's screen blinks it's important message. Jill also looks over at you with curiousity.

"The paradox factor is the chance that a paradox will occur.", Scott says, giving the textbook answer that he has been preparing for when the media asks.

Bill and Jill smile at Scott as he continues.

"Nature abhors vaccuums... and paradoxes. Time travel would be impossible, because a paradox could occur. For example: if I went back in time and didn't work on this project. How could I go back if I was never a part of this project?", Scott continues, warming up to the subject.

"So, any changes made would have to be done in a way that could not significantly effect the future. This is why we erase the subject's memory of all future events with the neural screen. Then we use a Shrodinger Box for the subject to interact with the past. Since we don't peak into the box, anything that comes out hopefully won't cause a paradox."
