It's really great that she learned ASL but you are not obligated to be overly friendly and inviting to her. That doesn't make you mean-- just in a hurry and feeling private this morning. You keep the exchange pleasant but don't ask or volunteer anything of a personal nature. Maybe next time you're here and she is working you will have more time. "SORRY WORK ME LATE TALK TIME NONE"
"NO PROBLEM" she signs back and smiles "SEE AROUND WILL"
"She's pleasant enough," you think as you finish paying and grab your item from the counter.
