Taking Fire
The squad of Shadowguns step onto the bridge. Captain Danyers barks orders to the crew.
"Keep hailing the Marlborough. Tactical, get a lock on that thing."
LeadBeast,"Captain, we..."
The captian raise his hand as he speaks to the ship's AI. "Churpie, are you able to link to the Marlborough's systems?"
A synthetic vioce replies back,"Yes captain. The main computer is off line but ship systems are up and running."
Then the disenbodied voice adds,"Captain, the Marlborough's engines are warning up."
Captain Danyers,"What the hell."
There is a thunderous sound as the Starbeam rocks and everyone braces themselves.
"Taking fire from the Torment ship Captain"
"Return fire!" Snaps the captain.
The Starbeam shakes again under another volley.
"Do we know if there is anyone alive on the Marlboruogh?" Demands Captain Danyers.
"Scans are weak, but we are getting something" replies an officer.
An explosion shakes the ship even harder and alarms sound again.
"Captain, we have a bulkhead collapse! The hull is not going to to hold!"
Another officer interupts the first, "Captain, look!"
Looking at the main screen you see the Torment ship had taken hold the merchant ship using large folding arms to lock the two ship's together. A beam shoots out from the front of the Torment ship and a strange green vortex begans to form.
The Torment continues to fire on the Starbeam.
"Power failing Captain!"
Churpie pipes in, "The Marlborough's ETS is active and I have established a link"
Just then a panel exploses in sparks, killing the office at that station.
Captain Danyers turns to you,"LB, you and your squad are getting off this ship."
