A Thing
"So... you aren't all bad, are you human? Though I know you only gave those 100 dollars to appease your master..." The Almond Man chuckles. "And I'm glad you did, because now that means I have finally found him..." Suddenly the Pizzeria erupts in flames as demon emerges from the fire. "Carl!" the Almond Man shouts, "your days of controlling these humans for minor monetary gain is over!" The Almond Man lifts his staff and fires a bolt of energy towards the demon you once thought was a pizzeria worker. The bolt of energy has no describable color, and when it hits Carl the world goes white.
You hear the Almond Man talking to you. "Thank you," he says. "I have destroyed the demon because of you." You don't hear him breathe, you only hear him continue to speak. "Though this world can not know about this and must be returned, this demon will be forever dead by your efforts." You may relive this event in time, and though each time it may seem like he has survived, he has not. The Almond Man puts his hand on your forehead and you smell the faint scent of almonds as you slowly drift asleep.
The last thing you hear is the Almond Man's echoing voice saying "you may remember none of this, but please know that you have done something great here, always..."
