A Trip for the Lost

“A sigh of relief escaped her mouth, and she quickly bolted to the silver minivan. Images of of trees and nature soothed her spiraling imagination, and she unconsciously found herself driving in the direction of Tennessee's’ nearest national park. Caroline pulled into the empty car lot, for it was the dead of winter, and not many visitors enjoy the bitterness of such rigid temperature the mountains offer. She took solace in the clean white snow frosting the forest trees and decided to lie on the dusted earth floor. She looked up to the sky to see the stars beginning to emerge in the birth of night and thought of floating away into eternity. Caroline awoke to the songs of coyotes and to pitch darkness. It was night.”
