Erinyes Game

Walking over to it, you notice that next to the pomegranate is a machete, resting in a leather belt holster. You take it and strap it around your waist. If you don’t have to use it, you definitely won’t, but couldn’t hurt to have something to defend yourself with, right?

“I see you’ve found my little gift to you,” says Hades. “Use it well. I wish you luck, for the Fury is on the way.”

Almost as if on cue, you hear a faraway scream that gets cut short. Sending a silent prayer for Aphrodite’s safety to any and every god who would listen, you shut the door and stay behind it with your back to the wall. Hopefully, if the Fury opens the door, you can slip around the door and shut it on them, trapping them in the room temporarily to give you time to run.

Hades scoffs in your ear. “That’s no way to take a Fury down, Hestia. You have to be aggressive, don’t just wait to be hunted. Become the hunter.”

You try to ignore his words, but there’s something almost appealing about the suggestion.
