Erinyes Game

“Sure, what do you want to do?” You left Aphrodite take your hand and drag you out of your room.

“I found an entertainment room the other day,” says Hermes. “We could hang out in there.”

They take you downstairs to a room down the hall from the kitchen, filled with bookshelves and board games and even some televisions. Something tells you that those TVs won’t show you any current news.

The three of you settle around a little table and spread out some cards, playing game after game. Laughing together and teasing each other, you can almost forget that you’re in the middle of a deadly game.

Athena and Demeter, having heard voices and laughter, both wander in, joining your game. Artemis drags Apollo into it as well, and soon enough your group has expanded to include these newcomers.

“Oh my god, Aphrodite, you’re cheating!” Gasps Athena, pointing an accusing finger.

“Perish the thought.” She holds up a hand to her chest with a dramatic gesture, and a card falls out of her shirt sleeve.

You point at her as well, laughing aloud. “You were cheating!”

“Disqualified!” Yells Hermes, snatching the cards out of her hand.

Aphrodite pouts but sits back to watch the rest of the game. “I’ll have you know that I’m not the only cheater! Hestia, did you spot them?”

“Hmm...” You look around with a critical eye. “I think it’s...”
