Erinyes Game

“Hermes!” You point his way.

He gasps. “Such accusations...Hestia, I thought we were friends. I’m playing fair and square, thank you very much.”

You don’t find the second cheater, but continue to play the game. In the end, you lose to Apollo. He reveals his stash of hidden cards and everyone complains for a while, teasing him. Eventually you all end up sitting around chatting. Before you know it, the conversation turns back to the Erinyes Game.

“We’ll have to choose someone to execute in a few hours,” says Athena solemnly.

Artemis nods. “I hate that thought, but it’s true. I don’t really know what we’re going to do.”

“Well, I already know one potential candidate,” says Hermes. “I think it’s Ares.”

“Really? I just can’t see it,” says Aphrodite. “I know he’s not the friendliest, but…”

“I do see what you mean, Aphrodite, but personally I don’t trust him,” says Artemis. “I heard from Hera that he was shoving Hermes and Dionysus around. Who’s to say he didn’t kill Dionysus out of frustration?”

“And what if Hermes is next?” Adds Apollo.

Hermes flinches. “I’d rather not think about that.”

You feel uneasy, not sure what to say.

“Are we all actually gonna execute Ares?” Asks Demeter, looking as nervous as you feel. “Zeus came to me earlier and said he wasn’t a fan of him, too.”

“Then it sounds unanimous. Ares it is,” says Hermes matter-of-factly.

Trying to ignore the sinking feeling in your gut, you nod. Judgement was not going to be easy.
