With a complete disregard for Phil's feelings as a sentient being or his possible diseases as a being, the crew begin to pet him vigorously and continuously. It is not that Phil minds the attention, but that he is unable to deal with the fallout of his secret affliction—expositional rabies. Expositional rabies differs from the regular kind in that you can only hear or read the beginnings of stories but never learn the middles or ends until you have met your own demise.

Heedless of this aPhilction, the crew feel rejuvenated and delightfully silly. They also totally failed to realize that an ocelot had appeared on their ship without warning and that this is strange outside the context of a play.
