Chance for a Dance | Just a Kiss GxB Paranormal Romance
I stood on the driveway waiting for Addi to pull up. But the bright sports car that swerved too fast into the drive wasn't what I'd been expecting.
Mercurius. Sleek hair so blonde it was practically white, and cool, crystal eyes.
He was the richest, biggest snob in school, and for some reason our parents were set on setting us up together. Although he and I had become better friends of late, he still wouldn't exactly have been my first choice to ask a favor of.
"Addi called," he said, rolling down the passenger-side window. "Get in."
And when we peeled back out of the drive, I remembered why.
"You know they put those little numbers on the side of the street for a reason," I said, gripping the handle at the side of the door. "They're called speed limits."
Mercurius ignored my comment. And maybe it was for the best his eyes didn't leave the road, considering how fast we were going.
I prayed no unsuspecting kids or old ladies or little animals darted into the road.
Then again. Mercurius was full demon and had the reflexes to match. Hopefully that'd be enough to save us.
At least we arrived at the dance with plenty of time to spare.
In fact, we were so early, we were practically the first ones inside.
