A story
The next meteor lands on you, crushing your hands. The pain makes you black out.
When you wake up, you are in a hospital bed. Both of your hands have been amputated. It seems that the meteors have stopped falling.
A nurse walks in to check on you.
"The gods have accepted your sacrifice," he says. His eyes are glowing pure white. "The end of the world has been postponed." Then his eyes stop glowing. He is silent for a moment, then goes about checking your wounds as if nothing happened.
