In Serch of Eden

You are following a dead end. Most research and belief hold the source of the Euphrates in the mountains of Turkey to be where the Garden lies, I assume this is the theory that you yourself adhere to". You nod your head. "Well your wrong. This theory is founded on secular assumptions about the origins of the earth, the flaw here is that the Garden of Eden has no root in the secular world. If you want to find it you must go to the source, the place where you first find mention of it". She holds up a book and on the cover is writen the words "The Holy Bible"

Your mind reels, you have no idea what she could be talking about. You have read the description in the bible hundreds of times, and everything seemed to point to Turkey.
She removes a Lap top computer from one of her bags, turns it on and proceeds to open up a program. "Secular paleontology holds that the continents were once formed into a massive super continent called Pangea. I believe the Bible supports this. Genesis 1:9 states "Then God said Let the waters under the Heavens be gathered together in one place and let the dry Land appear" According to this the whole of the earth was under water in the beginning, and God ordered the water to be pulled into one place so that dry land, not lands , but the singular land comes into place. This is what I believe supports the theory of Pangea. Genesis also speaks of a Firmament that was placed in the sky, like a dome, that separated the waters above form the ones below. Most think the waters above are a metaphor for something else, but they ignore the simplest answer, that the bible is referring to actual water. God created this dome to hold actual water about seventy miles into the air, is the estimate by biblical scholars and scientist. We know that water filters out Radiation, and so this shield of water would keep from the earth all the harmful rays that come from space. Now it would also prevent rain. but in Genesis 2:6 it says that a mist went up from the earth and watered the plants. Chapter 2 also details how the Lord planted a Garden "eastward in Eden" now if the world was a Pangea, then the river Euphrates, could have existed in a completely different location then the river that now flows through Iraq.

There has been a series of satellites in orbit for 25 years. they have been measuring continental drift. just recently we have had enough data to write a program that would let us turn back the clock and see the movements of the continents over time. when we ran the program we came up with this". she shows you the monitor and on it is an image of one giant land mass, it looked like the image of Pangea you had seen in a textbook, it said it happened 523 million years ago, but the date on the screen listed it at 8000 BC. "That's right, the world was a Pangea around the time the bible gives for creation. Do you believe me now that Turkey is not the right place to go?

You nod your head, but ask her if not Turkey, then where? She smiles "Watch" She types some commands into the keyboard and a forested area appears on the Pangea. This is where we've figured the Garden would have been on the Pangea. now watch. You watch as the chronometer starts forward. nothing changes for three thousand years, just as you are about to tell her that this is a farce the Pangea is covered in water. At this point the animation stops. "I stopped it here because this is the point of the Great flood. Now the land mass still exist under the blanket of water as you can see here". The land mass is highlighted in red, with the location of the garden in green. The bible says that when the flood started all the "fountains of the deep were broken up". I believe this to mean that deep crevices appeared and this started the continents drifting, so that even while the waters were on the Earth the land was moving underneath it, pushed by the currents underneath, and on top of the land. watch." As you watch you se the highlighted area's moving apart, but the green stays stationary. Eventually the waters subside and the land reappears, in the form that we know today. And the green area now highlighted the Mediterranean sea.
Seeing the bewildered look on your face she smiles and gives you the lap top, and shows you the relevant files. "Here take your time and think about it, I know it's allot to assimilate. with that she turns back to the controls. you poor over the new data all the way to the Med.
