A story

There's nowhere to run except towards the creature, so you bolt towards it in hopes that you can slip by. You almost make it past when the candle suddenly explodes with a burst of flame. The creature takes the brunt of the attack, leaving you unharmed save for a few singed hairs. The creature runs away, squealing in pain.

You barely have time to collect yourself before you see a boy running towards you, wearing a purple hooded cloak. Before he can reach you, he steps on the hem of his cloak and falls face first onto the ground.
