After you stuff him full of citrus, the scurvied crewman heals to full health. However, you're out of fruit.
You can't afford to stop for provisions again and must continue on your endeavor. As you press on, it appears that much of your crew has come down with a bizarre and unsightly rash.
"Ah! I know this rash! The only cure is to massage the affected area with copious amounts of lemon juice!"
The crew grow uneasy as they remember the incident where they used up all the lemons to cure their scurvy-ridden mate.
