The Door

Bradley feels bone weary and would like nothing better than to fall asleep on the cold, stone floor. But the possibility of getting out of here gives him the strength he needs to get up.

He follows the hooded figure down a long passageway. Soon they arrive at a very large oak door. The figure knocks.

"Enter!" commands a gutteral voice from the other side.

Bradley follows the hooded figure in and is confronted with a demonic creature. He feels a chill deep down in his bones.

"Welcome, Bradley, I've been waiting for you to join me. I must say, you've provided me with much...shall we say...entertainment...in the form of your family members."

"Please," implores Bradley, "I didn't want to do what I did to them. I just want to return home."

"Ah, but you see, Bradley, nobody here blames you in the least. Circumstances called for drastic measures and you did what you had to. Fortunately for you someone "Upstairs" is giving you a chance that many do not get, the chance to escape my realm."

Bradley is confused but the desire to get out of here makes him disinclined to ask for further explanations. He has only one question on his mind.

"How can I get out of here?" he asks the demon.

"It's a matter of trust, Bradley. I offer you a choice and you must decide if you trust me." replies the demon with a little laugh. "I have here a bottle. You have two choices, to drink from the bottle, or not drink from the bottle. To not drink from the bottle means eternal residency in my realm. To drink from it offers you a possible chance to escape."

The demon offers you the bottle.
