Maybe Butch put a tracking device on the rifle, but you'd rather face him than whatever dangers lie in the forest. Rifle aimed at whatever zombies might approach, you walk forward. You are uncertain whether or not the zombies heard your cry. If so, they might be coming after you right now. It seems like your best option is to continue in one direction until you're out of the forest and shoot any zombies that come after you. It's a good plan, but it will soon be tested. A hoard of zombies emerges from the trees and comes after you. They might be too much to shoot on your own, but how far can you get on foot?
