Having just launched himself towards the edge of the desk, Craig was horrified to hear a loud booming smack behind him. The air pressure of Caleb's giant hand clapping down against the wooden desk sent the tiny cricket further away than intended, causing him to fly completely off the desk.
Craig cried out as he plummeted all the way down to the hardwood floor of his bedroom. Thankfully due to his current form and size, the impact was in no way life threatening.
Still very much in flight mode, the tiny cricket began to frantically spring himself forward across the huge open floor.
Keeping a steady visual on the tiny critter, Caleb watched unblinkingly as it fell to the floor and attempted to flee.
Unfortunately for Craig, his little brother had never been the kind of kid to just give up after he had his mind set on doing something. He had already decided that he wanted to squash the bug, so ....
Repeatedly lunging himself through the air, Craig continued to flee across the vast vacant floor. For a moment, he actually felt that he could create enough distance to escape, but that was before a massive dense shadow suddenly engulfed the floor around him.
Upon standing up from the swivel chair and taking two casual steps forward, Caleb easily caught up. The ten year old lifted his right knee and swung his bare foot directly over the slowly fleeing speck.
"NONONO!! CALEB! STOP!! IT'S ME!! IT'S YOUR BROTHER!! CALEB DON'T CALE-"
*THUD*
Caleb's enormous bare foot came down with an abrupt stomp. The insect's puny form vanished completely beneath the boy's sole as it came down flatly against the floor.
The young middle schooler was immediately satisfied by the feeling of the bug's tiny frame collapsing instantly under his foot with a faint crunch.
"hmph..." Caleb huffed with an inflection of triumph. The boy flashed a cruel smirk as he pressed down and pivoted for extra measure.
Satisfied with himself, Caleb turned himself back around and returned to the computer.
The squashed remains of the cricket remained glued to the underside of Caleb's sole as sixth grader happily returned to minecraft.
