Morgan pulled the bolt on her sniper rifle back, checked for a bullet, then let it slide silently back into place. Alex's voice came over the comm.:
"Alright, everybody, here's the plan: Bernice, flank the squad to the left and move up behind. Morgan, follow her and provide cover until you're on the left. I'm going in from the right flank. David, you get to do the fun part." His voice was quiet, barely audible.
"Roger," came Bernice's voice over the comm. Her white blip on the motion tracker started to move.
"Covering," Morgan said as she followed the CASE DM's reading for Bernice. When they were ready, both of them checked their targets.
"In position," Morgan said. She laid her sight on a soldier that was taking a break, leaning against a tree.
"David, where the hell are you? Get your ass up to the front line and open fire on my mark." Alex said irritably.
"Roger," David shook his head. He was always the last one in position. He got up and waited to move.
"Set targets...fire!" Alex's LC7 barked as he jumped from his cover. Morgan pulled the trigger smoothly, watching the man fall to the ground as the bullet penetrated his skull. The round traveled all the way through his head and into another man's torso, killing both of them. The suppressed sound of Bernice's M2F pistol was overwhelmed by the loud tatatata sound of David's heavy machine guns. The squad was dead in seconds. Suddenly, Morgan's motion tracker turned completely read in the left hemisphere.
"More bogeys on the way," she informed everyone. "They heard the fire. What should we do?"
