Just an Ordinary Day in the Life of an Ordinary Girl
"NO!" Zack cries out and pulls your wheel very quickly to the left again.
You scream in shock and hit your head against your left window because of the swing the car takes. You ignore the pain and try to regain control over the car as you leave the other car and the mystery person behind.
"WHAT were you thinking??!" you exclaim, heavily confused and angry because of Zack's 'clever' stunt. "Do you want us killed or something?!"
"Or something," Zack mumbles. His face looks kind of pale, just like yours actually.
Is there something wrong with my ears or did I just hear him say "or something"?
As if he read your mind he starts to explain his remark. "What you saw there wasn't what it seems. You saw what they wanted you to see." Then he adds, whispering, "I think I just saved us from god knows which terrible fate."
You try to get a glimpse of the expression on Zack's face to see if he's being serious or if he's just joking (would be a horrible joke though), but he turns away from you and looks out the window.
You see a sign announcing the exit to the next town, Radford.
